Why This Book Exists

The book we wished existed.

Most cannabis books are either cheerleading or condemnation. Most are written for a general adult audience that doesn’t reflect the medication lists, health histories, and life stages of readers in their 50’s up to their 80’s and beyond. We wrote the book we wished existed when our own families started asking questions.

Where the evidence is solid, we say so. Where it’s mixed or limited, we say that too. You will not be told that cannabis is a miracle cure or a moral failing. You will be given the information and trusted to discuss it with your healthcare provider and make your own informed choice.

What's Inside

The seventeen-chapter framework.

The book moves from foundation to practice — starting with how cannabis works, ending with the conversations to have with your healthcare team and family.

Part One: The Landscape

Part Two: The Science

Part Three: Candidacy and Risk

Part Four: Products and Administration

Part Five: Legal and Quality

Final and Closing Chapters

“ The right question is not whether cannabis is good or bad. The right question is what cannabis does, what it doesn't do, and whether — given everything else going on in your body and your medicine cabinet — it makes sense for you. This book exists to help you answer that question for yourself. ”

— Ken Feldman, Ph.D.
